The Erie & Southern Railroad is a proto-freelance N scale model railroad. Set during the transition era in the fall of 1953, coal to port is the road’s #1 service industry.
The line originates in Wheeling, WV and travels through the coal mine region, then north and northwest to Lake Erie. Major cities along the route are Wheeling, Stuebenville, Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Sandusky, and Toledo.
Transported commodities include: Grain, coal, coke, steel, bulk dry goods, scrap metal, U.S. mail, milk, passengers, limestone, vegetable oils, and others.

I just found your web site and was looking at your engine scheme. using Micro Scale decals, you could do the 1st scheme without masking. Just paint the light green and then use a dark green strip with yellow or gold trim stripes. Go to Micro Scale web site to see colors and sizes of stripes. I have a private road name, Charleston, Athens & Sandusky which runs from Charleston, WV to Sandusky, OH via Athens and the old Hocking Valley line. My layout has been reduced to 3 1/2 x 8 due to a hopeful move to a single story house in the next 4-5 years. Keep up the good work and am looking forward to your updates. Craig Sonnen MMR 323
Thanks for the comment, Craig!
The new paint scheme has really grown on me, so much so that I like it more than the original. I plan on using Micro Scale decals for the yellow stripe. Do you have a website for your railroad? I would like to put up a link to you!
